  • Mark Herold 5-course Wine Dinner
    Thursday November 13, 7PM

    Please join us for a 5-course Wine Dinner featuring Mark Herold Wines on Thursday November 13th, at 7pm.

    We are excited to team up with Hope Valley Bottle Shop and welcome General Manager & Assistant Winemaker Mike Loeberg as he guides us through six distinct wines in their debut to North Carolina!

    Markís fascination with wine started early as he liberated a bottle of Port from his fatherís cellar on his 12th birthday. Unfazed by the horrendous hangover that followed, his interest and love for wine was born.

    After receiving a Ph.D. from UC Davis in Ecology with an emphasis in nutritional biochemistry, he started his first foray into the wine world at Joseph Phelps Vineyards as the Research Enologist. Here, Mark was not only able to bridge his scientific method with winemaking, but also made contacts that ultimately led to the development of his very first wine, Merus, in his Napa Valley garage in 1998.

    The Cabernet Sauvignon received an astounding 93 points from Robert Parker and enjoyed a cult following; this was the first indication of what was yet to come.

  • Core Seafood Durham CSF (Community Supported Fisheries)

    We are excited to once again partner with Core Sound Seafood by becoming a delivery location for their Durham CSF (Community Supported Fisheries) starting Thursday, April 3rd!

    Core Sound Seafood delivers fresh, local seafood to customers through CSF shares and custom ordering. Similar to a CSA program in which the public buys directly from a farm, a CSF provides regular access to seafood bought directly from fisherman.

    Deliveries to Guglhupf will be on Thursdays from 4-6pm, beginning April 3rd. Visit to sign up for a regular CSF share or custom order. All seafood will be fresh (less than 48 hours out of the water!), local and filleted, ready for the pan. Share pricing works out to $11.25/lb for all seafood provided.
